My name is Raymond Doward and I love to spend time with my family with my grandchildren at the top of the list. I have a special love for music and I play the organ and piano for my church. I have been seriously painting for over sixteen years and have received two grants from the arts counsel where I live here in Batavia NY. With one grant I have had the pleasure of working with 6 children ages 8 – 12 who helped me paint a mural on one of the buildings in my city with the theme being “Children make the world go aroundâ€. This was by far one of the greatest satisfactions I have had with my art career. Seeing the children with a sense of accomplishment as they viewed their finished project gave me faith and hope that they would use that experience to build upon for future accomplishments.Currently my art is in thousands of homes Nationally as well as Internationally. I an a published artist whose work is in the National and International Contemporary Artist Publication. This publication reached some 70,000 Museums and stores including Barnes and Nobles chain stores. . I paint loose and free with Palette knife while leaning more toward tight renderings with brush. The satisfaction and gratitude that comes as a result of finishing a painting and having someone willing to buy it cannot be expressed, but painting is a therapy that brings rest and relaxation as I enter into another world...the world of creativity!!!
