  I first started making 100% natural skin care products for my daughters, myself, and my husband. My daughters and I have very sensitive skin. I am allergic to most all commercial soaps, lotions, makeup, along with many other things. I set out doing research for which plant based oils, herbs, and botanicals were best for our skin and started with soaps. Knowing how sensitive I was to many chemicals, preservatives, dyes, fragrances and other synthetics that seem to be in every lotion, soap, makeup product, I knew there had to be a better way to take care of sensitive skin, without the harmful side effects. Our store, The Gourmet Rose was born!

  Since I don't use perfumes or synthetic dyes in any of my products, using fresh herbs is a key to vibrant colors and aromatic scents. In off season, when I can't use my fresh herbs, I use 100% natural dried herbs and if any additional scents are needed, I only use the highest grade pure 100% essential oils. These are expensive but well worth the money! We NEVER use synthetic fragrances in our products, so you'll never see the tropical scents like coconut, mango, or apple and other such scents. These simply don't have the power to scent a skin care product. We use real essential oils, that are plant derived and you'll see mints, citrus scents, lavender, herbal, and other stronger botanical scents in our products. Many soap makers call their soap "natural", but they use synthetic dyes and fragrance oils (chemically based). We use all natural colorants such as berry juices and mineral pigments for our children's soaps, so you know what really is going on your skin and our skin care can really be called "NATURAL".
