UNIQUE GIFTS SUPPORT UNIQUE (disabled) KIDS!
I was fortunate to have been able to work for 15-years at the Gladys H. Oberle School, a non-profit, in Fredericksburg, VA. While there, I was school administrator and also designed and managed many of their educational and job training programs. These programs have helped thousands of disabled, and other at-risk kids complete their high school education and get the job training they need to become productively employed.
Several years ago, Fibromyalgia caused my own disability and I found that I was unable to continue working. Instead of giving up, I opened Andrea's Creations. Proceeds help to fund the programs that I used to manage.
Since opening Andrea's Creations, people from around the world have learned about what I am doing and have donated their photographs, art, hand-crafted and vintage items to support my 'unique" kids. Many of the artists allow me to use their work in my own "creations". It is a wonderful feeling to know that people from around the world are supporting programs that help disabled youth in my community!

My Glass is half-FULL!
Even though Fibromyalgia made it impossible for me to continue to work, I knew that having a disability didn't mean that my life was over. I may not be able to everything that I’ve done in the past but that's okay. My illness has provided me with more time to spend with my wonderful and supportive husband, two fabulous boys, a beautiful daughter-in-law and granddaughter as well as two very sassy grandmothers! It's also allowed me time to explore other areas of my life - I grow my own herbs and vegetables, I've learned how to cook AND I started Andrea's Creations. So really, Fibro has enriched my life!
