About me
Born on a mountaintop in Tennessee...well, not really! Lived all over the US of A, and changed schools 24 times. Spent a hitch in the Army during Vietnam (but went to Germany instead) and met and married a "local" gal while in college in the Good old Northwest.
We moved back to her home town just before the kids started school, and have been here for more than 30 years...how time does fly!
Now we're both retired and living on fixed incomes, but wouldn't change the "grandkid" routine for anything. Baseball games in the rain for the now 16 year old, and encouraging our nearly ten year old grandson in his literary endeavors...heck, life is, while not perfect, sometimes pretty darn good!!
Our current photo was taken on or about January 5, 2012, and is of my current project, a 1955 GMC 3/4 ton long box pickup with a 327 and turbo 350 transmission, right after it was painted Carolina Blue (or a close facsimile). Needs finishing, but that will take some bucks we don't have (yet!), and time (which we do have a lot of...). How come they never occur in the same universe?
I've collected books and comics since I was 13 (and, my wife says, anything heavy...), and hardly ever threw anything away, so in the next year or two I'll have a bunch of stuff listed!!!
Also have some old Chevy stuff, Subaru Brat stuff, electronics (R to R tape decks, turntables, amps) and other miscellaneous goodies I'll be letting go of, so keep your eyes peeled.
Please feel free to make offers. I'm going to be in a "letting go" mood in the next year, since the kids have said they don't want to even be mentioned in the will!!
