This seems to be a small marble paperweight app. 2 inches by 1.2 inches or so. I am wondering what it says? Is this Japanese language? Here is a picture ( I’m not sure which side is right side up!):

(from Taija) Hi Monty, it is an Ink Block, very common and can be purchased at the markets for just under $3 USdollars.
First of all, it is up side down. It means CELEBRATION or HAPPY EVENT which means “life, long life, celebration for a long life” in our way of expression.

Thank you so much! I don’t think there is any way this is a game piece…it is almost .5 inches thick. I have never heard of an ink block, so thank you for that idea! It is a cute piece and now that I’m thinking it says something useful, I like it even better! :)
