What can it be?

Can you help me with this thing please?

I have absolutely no idea what it is or what it is use for!

PARAGCA OR PARAGCS
China England

It measure 5 inches X 5 inches and the gold thing in the middle is 3 1/2 inches high

I tried to search for Paragca and Paragcs but didn’t find nothing and couldn’t find anything similar because I have no idea what it is! Someone told me it could be an ashtray and the the gold thing in the middle for holding a package of cigarettes!

Problem solved! It’s a pipe or cigar rest with match holder! I just found a few similar!

It looks like it might be Paragon. I went to replacements.com to see what they had in china that started with para and it seems the most likely. [URL removed] takes you to the Paragon page and with any luck you will see your pattern. I can’t tell what the trim color is in your pictures. Looks more like a napkin holder to me as no rounded spots to hold a cigar or a cigarette seem to be in your dish.

The bracket in the middle held a box with a sliding cover of wooden matches. The square in the middle would push the box open enough for selecting a match.
