I have a professional vinyl cutting machine (plotter) that is ran from the computer, however Montrose is right. You can purchase small cricut machines that will cut vinyl but your very limited in what you can do with it as far as designs and length of of designs you can cut.

You can purchase 12" vinyl cutter to use with your computer it can cut out any design you create for about $900.00 Rolls of vinyl vary in price from about $14.00 a roll to $250.00 a roll depending on size, length, and color. I’ve use to make real banners that you could hang on the sides of a building using this computer/cutter.

If you want some websites on these machines. Just bmail me and I’ll be happy to help you.

I love my cricut- but like Roger said, the size of what you can cut is limited.

Martha Stewart uses the “Cricut” to cut her letters out of vinyl.

What do you use?

When I seen this my first instinct was the cricut machine as they have different sizes that range with the sizes they go up to in their cutting. I thought they had come out with another one again? I thought my sister told me that…she use to have her own scrapbook store. Anyway, the cricut gets used a lot to do the cutting to put on such things as you mentioned, and they sell the materials papers to be used for this too. There is a vinyl type paper material that is used with these machines. Depending what you all want done, the style, fonts, etc there are different cartridges to buy for the machine too.

A Cricut is an excellent and affordable simple cutting unit. Create a printed design, submit it to your printer, and then cut it out with the Cricut. You can purchase printable vinyl for inkjet and laser printers, but I’m not sure how long the colors will last. A UV cover sheet is used in some cases. Only use black outdoor vinyl for your DOT messages, and the Cricut will pay for itself in just a few trucks compared to the cost of ordering. If you are just cutting your basic outdoor vinyl in a single color all you need is a computer and a machine to cut the vinyl. It’s pretty simple to pick up on [URL removed]

From those who have used it, isn’t the Cricut pretty expensive as far as the materials one must purchase to be compatible with it?
