I have a 78 Bing Crosby & Les Paul recorded with Decca, The songs are Whose dream are you, & It’s been a long long time. I have 24 other 78’s recorded by different artist and label companies, Artists likeElla Fitzgerald, Benny Goodman & His Orchestra, Jimmy Dorsey, Frank Sinatra, Jimmie Davis, plus some more. Label companies include Columbia, The Hit Record, Decca-Blue Lable, Decca-Black label, Columbia Green label, Okeh, Capital, Bluebird-Blue label, Bluebird- Blue & gold label. I’m presumming the different colo labels represents the year the 78 was made, the l;abels i named above, where can i find out what year that 78 produced. Thank you

They have some extraordinary value for some guys….I guess you can list them for $ 8 to $ 12 (depending of condition and sleeve).

Man, I’d love to hear those two performers, indeed! But, as far as value goes…well, I would hope it’s gotten better than it was in the 60’s…When someone in the family died with a huge collection of 78’s…and some great ones! I think someone still has them but we were looking to value them then and found out they were virtually worthless—and, I’m talking people like Caruso,and some famous pianist, etc…that 8 to 10 buck price seems to be really low BUT is probably right in the ballpark…too bad, huh? [you don’t happen to have any Virginia O’Brian recordings do you?] She was the gal who sang w/o any facial expression but was dynamite…bending notes and scat singing…she played with the Kay Kaiser band…Ish Kabibble, and the gang…great stuff!

I hate to be the bringer bad news but 78 Rpm’s of that type have little value. If anything. People collect 78’s for obscure artists, rare labels, and recordings, And certain consecutive series numbers that have not been reproduced on new formats. Bing Crosby and Les Paul are not sought after artists. If you could get 2.00 you would be doing well. I do collect old artists and label 78’s. I got rid of 1000 recordings for .10 each. But it was common stuff

78’s are strictly collectors items now like Fathertime stated.
But with any record .. be it LP. 45, etc, the market drives the price. Just like any other collectable.
