I’ve never tried advertising but it’s been many months since I’ve sold something so I thought I’d give it a try. Is it worth it? Would love to hear the experiences of others.

It works for us, we use the 9%. You need to make sure you have your listing in compliance with google. MSRP, boiler plate words like New, Free shipping etc can not be in the title or in the first 250 characters of your description, and all caps is also not allowed. Characters such as ~ / – ! can also cause problems.

Does it work? Yes, it does work. It will give your advertised items a high rank in Google shopping. At that point, the rest is up to you. If you have a low price, then the shopper who checks for price will be attracted. If you have a high price, then the shopper may go elsewhere.
Bottom [URL removed] once you are “in the tent,” be sure you can compete with others who are also there. Mere appearance is often not enough; you must also show well, compared to others.
One [URL removed] you pay nothing until the item sells, as a result of a click-through from Google.

Passionfuel, since your items are on Google shopping, I assume your question is about paying a promoter to advertise for you. Some promoters offer a full package, including tweets and posting to social media sites which will increase your ranking in goggle organic. They will also be displayed on organic via the site to which they are posted along with your Bonanza booth. Since tweets are no longer displayed on Google, a good mix of social media sites is helpful.
That being said, you can tweet your own items, pin to pinterest, and promote yourself.
You can join tweet for tweet in the games forum where you tweet for other members and they tweet for you, which is very helpful.
If you are in fact talking about Google shopping, 100% yes. I have had a good percentage of sales from shopping, and as everyone else mentioned, no upfront cost.

Unless you pay to be placed in Google Shopping, you are relying on (a)shoppers finding your item through Bonanza search, (b)shoppers finding your item using Google organic search, or ©your own social media advertising. When you sign up for advertising on Google Shopping, you only pay the extra amount if the item sells. It costs you nothing unless it brings you a sale. Seems worth it to me.
