Hi All.
I’ve got this little stoneware jug. It’s marked USA on the bottom and has a nice shiny brown glaze on the top. It’s just under 6" tall and 3 1/2" across the base. Based on the water decal I’m guessing 40’s. Can any one help me ID the maker of this little guy?

EDIT 8/6/12: Thanks so much Germaine and Yettalass. I actually used to know this (I think) but it’s just one of those tidbits of info that went on vacation. I’m fairly confident it’s not a California piece. I was actually listing it for it’s Vintage American Mexicana interest. I see more than a few of these jugs featuring different designs and I thought it would be interesting to know who produced them. I don’t think chasing down the decal would help. Some housewife could have slipped this on the jug herself as these were quite common back in the day.

I don’t know, but a lot of stuff marked U.S.A. turn out to be one of the many California potteries. Its’ adorable and you probably have it priced about right. Best of luck with it.

Crockery Moonshine style jugs like this were made in different places for souvenirs. Unless someone can connect the decal with a source it will be difficult to place.
