Seller protection

I am looking at Bonanza because of a terrible experience on Ebay. I was just forced to accept a return on an item AND pay shipping due to a loophole allowing buyers to simply hit a “damaged” button on the “why item is being returned” page. I just wanted to know if Bonanza either had a similar policy or if there was at least options to protect the seller even if it is through discussion.

Now isn’t the time to drop ebay~~now is the time ebay is really picking up. One bad experience on ebay isn’t worth losing $$ over.

Bonanza let’s you set your own policies and handles your own money, therefore any dispute will have go through the payment processor, many cases paypal… where you will have a chance to answer any dispute.
Bonanza will only get I evolved as a mediator between buyer and seller if asked

State your shipping/refund and return policies clearly in your booth details and/or listings.

3 booths and 10 years…have never had a problem, that was not my error…which I handled

1st~~don’t expect Bonanza to measure up to ebay in sales if you are planning on replacing ebay with Bonanza. Sales could be few & far between. Do you have a return policy on ebay? If so, you have to accept returns & pay return shipping no matter what reason the buyer gives for wanting to return. I have a no return policy on ebay~~I don’t have to accept returns if the buyer chooses “doesn’t fit” or “bought by mistake”. I use priority on most things so it is insured up to $50.00~~if the item is more expensive I insure it for it’s value. If the buyer claims it’s damaged I ask for pictures & file the insurance claim~~the buyer keeps the item & I refund them immediately & wait to collect from the carrier myself. If something is damaged it isn’t worth my $$ to pay return shipping only to throw it in my trash. On items of low value or shipped 1st class I tell them to dispose of it & I just refund them & move on. You can’t take it so personally~~it’s a part of doing business.

Please don’t expect many sales here, like kattinsanity said. I’ve been here for two years and have only sold about 14 items.
If the sale is purchased through PayPal, you should be protected. Over a year ago, I sold an empty Play Station box on here, several months later the buyer opened a claim through PayPal stating it was an unauthorized purchase. The fact that is was signed for when delivered, and they waited so long, was a big red flag. PayPal sided with me and didn’t retract my money.
These boxes were selling hot on eBay at the time and, I believe, they thought they could sell it there for more than they paid for it here. When it didn’t sell, they wanted their money back. That’s only my opinion, but I’d bet my next three paychecks that’s what happened.
PayPal will protect you as a seller, but again, don’t expect many sales, if any, from Bonanza.
