Item description
OUT OF DARKNESS:
A Drama of Flanders.
By Kenneth Ingram.
New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1928.
First American edition, SECOND printing.
"Published February 16, 1928; Second printing February 27, 1928" statements to the copyright page, 1928 printed in Roman numerals to the title page.
A novel drawn from the author's experiences as a WWI anti-aircraft artillery officer, this story is set against the British front in Flanders in 1918, and deals with a captain who finds an old artist friend living with his family as the war rages on, and a high-ranking man who hates the artist.
A vintage collectible in a SCARCE dust jacket.
Some minor cream stain-spots to the covers, else square, quite firm and very good in polished black linen with silver embossed titles to the front cover and to the spine, stars and Stokes' insignias illustrated end-papers; in a good price-clipped dust jacket missing two inches from the lower spine area, a 1.5" by 1.5" piece missing from the rear panel's lower corner, creases and tears to the lower front panel, chips and tears to the upper spine end and upper shelf edges, and a tiny hole to the front spine fold.
The dust jacket will be placed in a clear, removable, protective sleeve, after scanning for this entry.
