The Peaberry, also known as the caracoli, is a very specific type of bean. Most coffee ?cherries? contain two seeds, and they each develop a flat side, but sometimes only one of the two seeds gets fertilized creating a round bean. This pea-shaped bean is known as a peaberry. Indonesia was introduced to coffee by the Dutch in the mid-seventeenth century. It is home to the first commercial coffee plantations in the world.
