UP FOR SALE: Antique German Frozen Charlotte porcelain doll dating to the late 19th to early 20th century. This is a classic one-piece molded doll with straight posture, arms held close to the sides, and a smooth, unarticulated body. Made of white porcelain with painted facial features and original gilt-painted feet, this is a textbook Frozen Charlotte?named after the popular 1800s poem about a girl who froze to death after refusing to bundle up for a sleigh ride. She stands approximately 2.50 inches tall and displays well with early doll collections, cabinet displays, or curiosity shelves. Condition is very good antique condition overall. Light surface speckling and age spots from over a century of life. Wear to the gold paint on the feet, consistent with age. Facial features remain visible with some soft fading.
