The Mosaic is known primarily for its striking, iridescent appearance and the fact that no two birds look exactly alike. They have quickly become a favorite for backyard enthusiasts. The Mosaic is a "fibromelanistic" breed, meaning it has an excess of dark pigment, similar to the Ayam Cemani or Silkies. The Mosaic features a "leakage" of color that creates its signature look. Every bird has a unique "mosaic" pattern of white, black, and sometimes red or grey feathers. They possess jet-black skin and striking turquoise/iridescent blue earlobes. Highly intelligent, curious, and friendly. Hardiness Very cold-hardy and excellent foragers, making them well-suited for free-range life. While they are often kept for their looks, Mosaics are reliable layers that can provide eggs throughout the year, even during the winter months. Egg Color: Typically cream, ivory, or light tint. 200?250 eggs per year. The primary appeal of the Mosaic is the "surprise factor." They are also prized for their high "flight-or-fight" intelligence, which makes them slightly better at evading predators than more docile, slow-moving heritage breeds. Shipping insurance included. We pack eggs the way we?d want to receive them:? Individually bubble-cushioned? Packed pointed side down to protect the air cell? Tightly filled boxes to prevent movement (?no wiggling?)? Shipping insurance included (please take photos during unboxing if filing a claim)
Once eggs leave the farm, they?re handled by the postal system ? and shipping always carries risk. They are sent fertile, and ready to hatch, but insurance is there to protect your investment if needed. I cannot refund you for poor hatch rate as I do not control your incubator or hatching techniques. Shipping always carries risk if receive broken eggs then please photograph the unboxing if filing an insurance claim. Thank you.
