The Halloween Tree - Ray Bradbury - Signed and similar items

?The Halloween Tree? Ray Bradbury NY: Knopf, 1985 [1972] Publisher?s original orange boards with blind-stamped mask on cover, black quarter cloth stamped in silver. The first edition of ?The Halloween Tree? was published in 1972 by Knopf publishers. The edition offered here is a return of the book to the public after 15 years, as stated on the front jacket flap as I?ve shown. There are a few other differences from the later editions that look the same using the image on the jacket cover: the price is cheaper and the front jacket flap has different information dropping the 15 year return statement; there is an embossment of the Halloween mask on the front orange board, later copies do not have the mask embossment; later copies have a number sequence on the verso of the tithe page- this edition has no number sequence as shown in my photo. Also the printing on the book?s spine is different than later printings (see photo 8 where I?ve shown a photo of the spine printing of the later orange board printings). In other words, the edition offered here is closer to a first edition than others that came after that look virtually the same on first observation. The book is very good plus and would be fine but for a bit of light fixing on the top page edges as shown. The dust jacket is very good with a light bit of wear. The book has been inscribed and dated by Ray Bradbury to Katie Crawford of Phantom Bookshop where Ray did numerous book signings over the years. The dust jacket comes protected in a one mil clear Mylar removable protector.
