Item description
This old pre-eagle Mexican silver brooch appears to depict an angelfish with a green banded agate belly. Handcrafted with care, the fin features a tiny pin securing the stone, peened on the reverse side. The stone itself is a soft green with darker green bands. The stamp on the back is hard to read due to double stamping or overlapping impressions, but ?Mexico? seems to appear twice, possibly ?Taxco? given the X, along with ?Silver? and perhaps ?925.? Measuring 1-3/4" by 2", it boasts a lovely patina and is in excellent condition.
