No Man's Land by Louis Joseph Vance 1910 HC/DJ
No Man's Land
A Romance
Louis Joseph Vance
Grosset and Dunlap
Copyright 1910
356 pages
Illustrated by Thomas Fogarty
The binding is in acceptable condition, the pages are tanning and some are foxed, the front end paper has been removed. The green cover has a small amount of edge wear and the spine lettering is just about rubbed away. The jacket has stains and is edge worn, about 3 inches of the spine is missing and some edge pieces on the back. Acceptable in poor dust-jacket. Hardcover.
A gentleman gets off of a NY subway train at the wrong station. Not in itself an unusual thing; but from that simple act Mr. Vance shows how an unprincipled scoundrel is able to saddle the accusation of murder upon an innocent man; and how a devoted lover loses for years every trace of the woman whom he worships. In the rapid narrative of a double crime, and the unexpected dangers which beset the hero in his long search for the woman whom he finally marries, the author has equaled his best work. (#00001526)
