Before he graduated from High School, his gypsy spirit and love for adventure took him every summer to travel to neighborhood countries. Gardani started working and experimenting with different materials and techniques, on his Paintings and Sculptures. Entirely self-taught, he had his first solo exhibition in his native, Quito, (1987). It's when he realized, that is what he wants to do for the rest of his life. He knows to fulfill that dream he had to leave his problematic political country. He traveled to Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, until finally he ended up in the U.S. in 1989. He lived in California, Chicago, New York and Miami and still living between the last two cities. He had continued traveling to Brazil, England, Italy, France, China, Honduras, Puerto Rico? in order to visit the major Art Museums. He believes that is the best school to learn the higher expressions of Art. Gardani, still remains true to his initial spirit of enjoying Art in the Magic Realism form, which he has been practicing for more than twenty years. Even though some of his paintings come from his mind; he prefers to work with models. Gardani has the ability to present works of allegory, still-life, fruit, horses, pets, contemporary abstracts and his well known figurative paintings.
