This pane of 18 forever stamps mark the 150th anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad,
Building the transcontinental railroad during the 1860s was one of the great achievements of the era
the USPS is offering sheets of stamps with a golden spike and the two locomotives present where the east and west railroads met
Four colors and the gold foil are combined in the standard pane to create the framed train portraits by Michael Deas and the ornate typographic elements by Kevin Cantrell.
