I’ve got 4 very old books, 1800’s, and can’t find much information on Google or eBay. They are fairly small…only about 4" X 3". Anybody know about these?

The first two are actually one book. “Indiana” was a famous novel by a pariah author named George Sand, which was a pseudonym for the Baroness Dudevant. Her outrageous ideas and beliefs on marriage, gender stereotypes and appropriate “roles” of womens behavior got her into some trouble with the crown. She had to give up some of her rights and privileged as a baroness. Apparently bra burning for 17th century French nobility was frowned upon. At any rate, What made Indiana such a fantastic read was the Sand drew such amazing and poignant analogies to her own life within the story that it was almost like eavesdropping on her life. Unfortunately this book fell out of favor with the literate upper crust about 60 or 70 years after it was published, and in this day and age, literacy itself is a modern miracle. /lesigh
For rare or antique books, you have to consider two main categories. Rarity, and Condition. In terms of rarity, Indiana is not that hard to find. I am sure if you amazon’d it you could find a modern reprint without much effort. In terms of Condition, i am not able to give you any information, but you have the book, and can judge it pretty fairly.
As for the other two books, i just cannot see the bindings to get any information. If you wanted to contact me with more info, im happy to help!

You may want to try Via Libri. It has listings from around the world and there are 16 pages with different versions of these books. What you need to look for in the descriptions is the binding, publisher, date published, language, size etc to get a good comparison as values do vary based on this information.
