Booth auctions....do they work and how do i find out about them?

I have had a store on Bonanza for several months, and not one sale. I have had a store on Ebay for 12 years and there I do okay. On Ebay I rely on auctions to get buyers into my store with low priced loss leader items and they ultimately purchase something else. I understand Bonanza has booth auctions, but I can’t figure out where the ‘how to’ section is? Anyone have any experience with auctions …. successful? Gotta do something or this site is a big waste of time.

Auctions on Bonanza are not “site sponsored.” Rather they are booth sponsored. A booth owner, or group of booth owners will select a date and time for an auction and advertise it. Advertising is really key. You’d want to get as many people in your booth as possible. Once there, it pretty much works like a live auction. Everything goes through the chat box. You indicate the item up for auction and the starting bid and let others respond. They can be a lot of fun, but IMO they also result in items being sold at the opening bid if they are sold at all.

There’s really not enough traffic on this site to hold a successful auction. Bonanza is set up as a fixed price venue, and that’s what people are here for.

Look through the games played here, I believe there is one for auctions.
