Can anyone give me any detail info on this item

About 15 years ago, I bought this from a young girl that came into my resturant. It is not very big 3 1/2 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches high. The details are Amazing. I can’t even imagine the precision it took to assemble this.
There are no markings, no name.
sorry about that I’ll get it up here right away.

Oh yeah, it’s cork carvings… they are not expensive and
can be found in Asian stores in the cities in masses.

These were Asian wood cork carving if vintage. Usually in a redwood, rosewood, or cedar frame and glass.
Modern ones are done with dental drills or even lasers.
Look in Google shopping under Vintage Asian corkwood carvings for price comparisons

These are called Dioramas. Google Vintage Oriental Diorama, and you will see a number of them. Not sure how well they sell, but I like them.

Yep, and they are very fragile. I have an ornate one that had the glass cover get broken for, and I have had it covered with a large fish bowl type glass cover. We bought it overseas, and they are available everywhere as a tourist favorite to bring home. Mine has had some pieces get damaged and I still refuse to throw it away.

Many years ago, SMC Wholesale carried this type of item and could be found listed in their dealer catalogues.

I have one very similar that my Air Force son brought back for me when he was stationed in South Korea. I am glad now to know just what it is called and what it’s made from, they are really quite beautiful and unique!
