Where to research the value of an old magazine?

Celebrity magazine december 1954 is it worth anything?

We found an old Celebrity Magazine December 1954 while remodeling our house. It was used as a wedge in a window frame. It has stories on Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Sammy Davis Jr. and more. The problem is, it is in fairly poor condition. The pages are extremely fragile, with some mold spots. The bottom 1/3 of the booklet is mostly missing. The paper is very crumbly. Does this have any value, or should I add it to the burn pile.

No..I have some old magazines from the 60’s, Life, Look and McCalls which are in much better shape than that and I will be lucky to get a buck for them. I will keep them myself because they are fun. Magazines really need to be near mint. What goes for good money is the old Sears Christmas “Wish” Catalogs…

You have to either Google or check online venues to see how many are out there. But, it sounds like a log for the fireplace in the condition you describe. There is a book on the value of old magazines that you can find in the collectibles section at most bookstores.

no value

Little or no value will be realized from them unless in mint condition & even then would be a hard sell.

Any old stuff (less than a mint) has almost no value at all.

Ya know I think It might have some small value in the old ads. Maybe you could salvage some of the old interesting ads that are in good condition and sell them as ephemera. I like stuff like that for scrapbooking. I’m in the same dilemma with antique magazines. I have three from like 1913 to 1914. No cover anymore but otherwise in great condition. They do contain old sheet music so I saved them for that. Not a lot of ads but some. I love the old art work in them.

ads- look for auto and coke! Those fetch nice change- and slip into a frame and create a combo packet to hang as a group!
I have an OLD cosmo- 1912- a hoot for the ads- not much value intact
