Hello pretty baby...what size should i buy you today?

I need to purchase few outfits for a 11 month old baby boy having a party next month.

  • Do I need to buy true age-month sizes or the next larger size(s)?
  • Would I be out of place if the size is too big to wear soon?
  • Aside of color blue, what are other acceptable colors for a boy?

Can you steer me to the right Link-direction please?

HELP, need your HELP!….+hank$

As a mommy to three boys, bigger is always better! They grow like weeds so no worries they won’t get to wear an outfit.

A color trend I have seen for a couple of years in the infant/toddler clothing for boys, is Bright Orange. I recently bought my 3 year old a few orange shirts and he thinks they are great!

When received cloths for my growing children from people who were not around them much, the cloths were always sized wrong, either way too big or way to small.

If you have not seen the child, or have the ability to just call the child’s Mom for instructions as to what she would like in a size, color, outfit type – then pass on buying clothes.

There are many wonderful items to buy for children. May I recommend a Growth Chart in a boy theme? It would not only decorate the boy’s room, but would be great to see his progress over the years!

Hope this helps!

As the parent of two children who were always in the 90-95 percentile for size/age I can tell you bigger is always better when it comes to baby clothes gifts.

Most people gift kids with clothes that will fit them “now”. The parents already have clothes that fit them now. Kids never stop growing, so clothes meant for slightly in the future are a very welcome gift indeed.

The sizes given on clothes are guidelines, and one manufacturer’s 12 month size is going to vary from another’s – yet another reason to go a size or two up.

When you are buying clothes meant to fit in a few months time it’s best to stay with medium weight items. You don’t want to buy clothes better suited to winter if they are going to hit that size in July, and since children go through growth spurts rather than growing at a steady rate you can’t always be exactly sure when they are going to go up a size.

As far as colors go, for baby boys the popular boy colors besides blue are green and yellow (yellow is the standard – we don’t know the sex color choice for most gifters). Once you get to around the one year/walking mark your options for boy’s clothes change. They start getting more people like and not so baby like. You will find cute boy shorts, pants and shirts in not just blue, but green, brown, red, khaki, camouflage, all kinds of colors.

A Growth Chart never crossed my mind but its really an EXCELLENT idea especially for my Quick-needed inquiry. Are these growth charts available everywhere? Or here at the Bonz?

I “might” get myself into a real mess if I end-up buying the little fello the wrong size but I am glad to know that yellow is the standard color. This helps me a buncH…

w0w…cool answers. I gotta act soon…Thanks ya’ll

Get them a gift certificate from a store that sells kids clothes and let them buy what ever they need for the child. If you don’t like giving certificates, just call the mother and ask her which size you should buy. All kids are different.

It seems today’s Moms like bright colors, not the pastels of years ago. Any color is really fine. Agree, bigger is better.
Clothing however is personal I think when they are babies and more suited to the Mom’s taste. If you know here style, then you’re good to go, otherwise it gets exchanged.
