Unless things have changed…you can only state it in your listings, but there is no setting for it in you seller settings..

Personally, never had any problem shipping to those locations..never did understand why people don’t want too..

I agree TrinketBox. I have shipped many times to those places, especially Hawaii & Alaska, and never had any additional cost

Also, i love selling to APO/FPO boxes and will usually offer them free shipping since those are our military.

Im not sure about Alaska but Hawaii is the same cost as California for me
Those Hawaiian buyers are also very awsome customers

I have seen on various sites sellers who state that they only sell to the continental USA. I have no idea what restrictions you might have to use to ensure that, though – I am certain that sellers more knowledgeable than I can tell you how it works here.

I can understand the OP’s query. Sometimes those who sell, offering “free” shipping, find that it is economically beneficial to them to not ship beyond the lower forty-eight (unless they use flat priority, which may not be appropriate for all purchases). Adjusting the overall cost of the item to still be profitable when selling to those two outlying states makes the price unattractive for buyers in the lower forty-eight. We have only had a few sales to those in AK and HI, and in each case have had very low to nil profits.

Loves-Birds, it has never cost me any higher rate to ship to Hawaii or Alaska the times i did sell to them.

it does depend on your location..those in middle of US..the distance zones are different (most will be less than Zone 7/8). For me..shipping to AL & HI is about the same as shipping to CA, If I did not do AL & HA, I might as well not ship to west coast.

It has to do with what the item is and the kind of method one uses to ship.

Sounds to me that the OP is using a carrier other than USPS – which would preclude shipping to those destinations, including PO Boxes.

As far as I know, you have to exclude those destinations in your description as there is no “setting” under the shipping details to do so automatically.

You say exclude those Dest in your Description but good luck in having the buyer READ your Desc. Many have twitter attention span and dont go beyond 2 or 3 sentences.
