I know nothing about art, help!

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!

A few years ago I won this Kincaide picture and I want to sell it. I need to know what to call it? A print, a picture or what? The picture itself is about 5X7, the entire thing is 8X10. The picture is sort of glossy. I would really appreciate knowing how to list it or what to call it or really anything. I am really dumb when it comes to Art.

Do you post a pic on this board the same as you do on all the others?

It is a print of a painting – not the painting itself.

The title of the print is Spring Gate. It is a limited edition print.

I believe that the original painting was released in 1991.

On his website, about this painting he [URL removed]

“Since I painted Autumn Gate early in my career, I’ve been fascinated with the inviting mystery of gates. I’m returning to the subject, in a new season, with my heroically-sized Spring Gate. I’ve portrayed a massive wrought iron gate framed by stone pillars. It’s Spring and nature rejoices at its rejuvenation with a lavish abundance of flowers.”

Thomas Kinkade original paintings command prices in the thousands of dollars range.

His prints are worth something but not as much as his original paintings, especially now that he just passed away on 04-06-2012.

Hey Sham! Yes you use the SAME technique to post pics here as you do in forums! Need help with that? Message me. Most Thomas Kinkade’s out there are prints, however you can use all 3 words as the word ’’picture’’ or ’’print’’ or ‘’Thomas Kinkade art’’ are all keywords are potent and important, to consider placing in the 1st 250 words of your Description as Google picks up those 1st 250 words, and potential buyers looking for his ’’art’’ or ’’pictures’’ or ’’prints’’ (whatever they type in) will probably find it in your booth if you use all those keywords!

Hi, have you seen this article? It came out after Kincaide’s death and might be helpful.

Is Your Thomas Kinkade Painting About to Increase in Value?

I sold some Kincaide miniatures I found at a yard sale several months ago to a collector and made quite a profit. I think that if you’ve got a print in very good condition, you should find a buyer. But i’d comparison shop just to make sure you’re offering it at a good comparable price.

Good luck!
