Nailsea glass that originated from the seaport of Nailsea in England dates to the 18th century, is famous and is prized by glass collectors.
Nailsea glass also was made reproduced and imported in the 60s to the USA and books claim that came from Italy and is either Venetian or Murano. The 60s items were the draped Ruby, Cranberry or Blue satin glass and books call this Nailsea.
Then I have seen a reference to Nailsea Glass that was made mid 16th century that originated in Spain and simply said it was very rare.
I understand why Nailsea glass company was named Nailsea from the town in England but why are other countries referring to Nailsea glass and it is clearly identified as Italian in the Cruets Cruets Cruets book by Ezell and Newhouse but also mentions the rare Nailsea glass from Spain.
