Thanks for posting/sharing Zappy.

Zappy, do you think eBay may have already raised their shipping prices to account for the increase in 2019? The reason I ask is because for listing I have on there now that are calculated, the shipping seems higher than what it used to show.

Meant to say listings with an S.

I have always let what ever service I’m using to ship calculate the shipping price. Occasionally I get it wrong but usually a little over. In 2019 I am going to start not competing on the best price and separate myself from the bargain basement sellers. When I can profit more on my oroduct I can off

I can offer better and costly customer service with a better profit margin.

I agree, Zappy, that we need to keep a watch on our costs. It’s easy to let it slip by without an increase, and before too long, you’re not making money.

I, for one, need to figure out the shipping profiles on Bonanza. I have them on another site and it is SO EASY to go in and change them and automatically update all the listings attached. I am in Canada, so it’s not quite as easy for me and I fear my shipping costs are woefully behind on Bonanza.

I used to use bannerfans and insert banners which I could then change, but that site doesn’t seem to be working, and most of my listings don’t seem to display the banners anymore, so it’s not surprising I haven’t more sales. Most of my items don’t give the shipping cost!

Good luck for your continued success.

I have let my shipping costs slip by for the last 2 years but with the rates from the PO going up in Jan 2019, Unfortunately, I will need to raise the ship prices. So for anybody looking to buy, Shipping will never be any lower than it is RIGHT NOW (and I am not just talking my stuff) as increase from the PO will be quite steep in 2019.

Unrelated to online selling but you may also want to stock up a bit on First Class FOREVER stamps as those are going from .50 to .55 cents (a 10 percent increase) just as a everyday example come January 2019.

My shipping rates are calculated unless it is first class or flat rate. I’m raising the price of my items I sale, and they are still moving. I recommend other online sellers to do the same or they will sink.

Seems it may be a good time to sell water rafts, floats and tubes lol.

Atomicdiner says: November 18, 2018

Aappy, be advised that in 2019 rate raise, First Class rates will now be zone priced by weight just like Priority and Parcel is now. Hope Bonz is working on a calc soulution for First Class. The clock is Ticking.

Sorry, Typo… I meant Zappy

zappys_closet says: November 19, 2018

I know rates are going up like everything else, so are the prices of my items. I am done competing for the low price. No sales loss with increase. All online sellers should do the same or not risk being in the hole.
