Shipping help

I just imported my ebay listings to bonanza due to their new managed payment nightmare. I started looking at my imported listings on Bonanza and it seems the calculated shipping is a problem. No standard or usps select shipping? So the only options seem to be priority if the package isn’t light enough to ship first class. In fact, I have a computer listed and it just won’t let me put any shipping options in. I checked the listing as a buyer, and it has it going out as free shipping. How can a company that has been around so long still be struggling with this issue? Ebay has usps select option so don’t say it is because usps doesn’t offer it any more

Since bonanza uses USPS Webtools..parcel select/tandard will only show if the person’s zipcode is greater than zone 4 from your location. (USPS webtools does not offer parcel select for zones closest to seller. Only when buyer enters Zip code does it become an option.

I just received a reply from bonanza customer service and they said that the stamp company they deal with does not offer parcel select. This is a serious issue because the shipping rates that show up for any item 1 lb and over is extremely expensive. When I was listing the only option I was given to “check” as the options for customers to choose between is priority! This should be an important issue for Bonanza to figure out. As bad as Ebay is these days, it may be the only place to sell on.

So is this a correct assumption based on what ccmom answered?

That the customer, even if located in mailing zone 4 or further, has no way of seeing (in the listing) what the actual shipping options are? If the option for Parcel Select, etc., is only shown AFTER the buyer enters their zip code… they’ve already committed to buying with the OTHER shipping method shown in the listing…. correct?

So unless the buyer contacted the seller, BEFORE buying, giving their zip code and asking about other shipping options, neither the buyer nor the seller would know if any exist?

That’s not good. Especially, the “secrecy factor” is not very good at all, since I had no idea this was happening but explains a few discrepancies I’ve seen in some of my “sold” items re the shipping methods.

A potenial buyer who has a registered Bonanza account has their zip code in Bonanza’s system. So, the correct calculated shipping options should show up for that buyer.

Shipping does not show at all for calculated shipping without a zip code. Nothing to decide until after shipping is entered…as tomwayne says..if already registered then it is already there

With experimentation last night though, I could not get standard or parcel to appear…anymore as I stated with ccmom. PS I used USPS webtools on my website and standard/Parcel also does not appear..

I also sell on ebay & was considering leaving there when I was notified I was up for managed payments a few months ago. I opened a bank account to use only for ebay. I love it actually~~I opted for them to deposit weekly to my account. Every Tuesday morning the $$ are in my bank. You’re right that even as bad as ebay is these days it may be the only place to sell. I’ve made close to 70 sales on ebay in the last 31 days~~I can’t even recall when my last sale was here on Bonanza or even what I sold. Managed payments on ebay isn’t as bad as many think it is~~ebay is the best place to sell on if you are serious about making money. The fact I’ve sold close to 70 items on ebay in the last month & 0 items here tells me where the buyers are. Good luck if you decide to dump ebay & sell here.

Dunno. I offer free shipping so I usually arrange to mail out packages myself without help from whatever platform I am on. Maybe that’s the better route.
