Thinking of doing bonanza's direct checkout, pros? cons?

Good evening everyone! I am thinking of offering Direct Checkout (it shows I have the option to offer it). Yes, I have read the terms and conditions. I know it is fairly new, but was wondering to those that use it, the pros and cons. Hard to set up? Have you gotten more sales by offering it? Gripes? Praises?

Also, I have it to where offers/orders come to me to be accepted, will that affect Direct Checkout if I offer it?

Hi there,
it’s always easy and convenient for customers to use direct checkout.
It works perfectly (I am also using it on Etsy).
It surely does not give you more sales – BUT, one never [URL removed] some customers might come back because the transaction was trouble free.

We had direct checkout for about three days. We’re experienced sellers on ebay & Amazon and accustomed to both paypal and direct checkout. Sales with direct checkout were really going well, we had done about $1500 then we checked the account and we went from approved to “ineligible” No charge backs or complaints. I suppose we hit a velocity filter. I contacted bonanza and essentially they said get more successful sales and you might, maybe, someday, get your direct checkout back. Needless to say, I’m less than thrilled. It’s been about 7 days and I have not seen any of the $1500 we sold. They say it can take between 7-10 days to get your money. I’ve had braintree payments (same payment provider bonanza uses) and it took way less than 10 days to get paid (even the first batch we ran). Also, Braintree gave us free processing for our first $50000. I’m hoping Bonanza lightens up their direct checkout soon.

From my experience with Bonanza’s Direct Checkout. Stay FAR away from direct checkout. There is this little clause in their Terms of Service that states they will charge you $30 for charge backs. It does not matter that the customer received the product and/or never reached out to you with their complaint so you could resolve their “issue”. This happened to me twice now.

What I have figured out after digging for answers and asking a lot of questions to Bonanza’s support team is that people are committing fraud, using stolen credit cards, to make purchases through the Direct Checkout. When I questioned Bonanza about these charge backs and if Bonanza was able to verify that the buyer is actually who they are? Bonanza cannot and could not even verify the actual person who made the purchase with the credit card used in the transaction. What this tells me is that anyone can make a purchase through Bonanza Direct Checkout from your booth with stolen credit card and you will not know it until its too late. You will be out the product you sold, $30 for the charge back and if you are completely unlucky you will lose the money for the whole transaction including shipping cost.

I have be able to prevent 5-6, what I believe would end up being fraudulent charges made through the Bonanza Direct Checkout, which would result in $30 charge backs to my credit card linked to my Bonanza account. I have recently disconnect Bonanza’s Direct Checkout from by booth because Bonanza’s Direct Checkout is a HUGE liability. That is my two cents to Direct Checkout.

I am using PayPal for the time being until I can figured out how to get my Payments by Amazon figured out. Credit Card thieves will stay far away from PayPal.
