What condition should i list for handmade jewelry traits

I’m new to Bonanza. When listing my handmade jewelry where it says condition, in the item traits, I list it as “new without tags”, since my jewelry does not have tags.

On the item page where a potential buyer sees the item it says condition is “Used” because google requires a UPC if item is listed as “new without tags”

If I change it to “new with tags” there are no tags on my jewelry since they are handmade. Any suggestions on how I should list it? I want it to be Google approved.

You could make your own tag up since your jewelry is custom. I would just make sure to include handmade in the titles..you really want to do that anyway since this would be a helpful keywords for buyers searching handmade.

Make the tags look professional though. There are handmade sellers on Etsy who do this, especially to brand their shops/items.

Like Cindy said below, do not put a UPC.

List as New (without tags)

And don’t put in a UPC

You can go to
Batch Edit
Search optimize

Change the condition (remove the used) and change to new
Remove search attributes

[[[URL removed]
Select all items affected, Apply Changes

Add search attributes
[[[URL removed]
[[identifier_[URL removed] if this is not already there..then add it also
Select all items affected, Apply Changes

Another option is to use another category

like
Jewelry & Watches > Fashion Jewelry > Earrings

select the New option (this category does not have the with/without tags) just new and used

Then type in Handmade under brand (as you type the option to select will appear)..

and then go to Search optimize and add/fix or check the traits…

adding in those you wish to fix/use in same format as above

I tried to do the 2nd suggestion to put it in category fashion jewelry and it still has a choice new with tags, new without tags etc. You’d think Google would know that handmade does not have UPC codes. Thanks for your info though.

went back and checked again…sorry..is was for FIne Jewelry that has only the two options…but you can still change it in Batch edit

When I list mine, I put “New without tags” then under brand I put “handmade” and all of mine have uploaded to google fine. I do think mine may be showing as “used” thru google, but once a person reads the description, they should know they are not used. I can’t control what google does and I really dont care what they do anymore, Lol.

LOL don’t want to be a slave to Google! Yeah no matter what you input it says condition is “used” probably best to actually say in the description that it NEW.
