"new without tags" gets reset to "used"

Hello, all! I’m a new seller here.

I’ve been creating Hemp and Stone or Glass bracelets, mostly, that I have started to make listings for.

One of the oddities I’ve noticed is that, if a set “New Without Tags,” it gets reset to “Used.” There’s a reason [URL removed] something about Google ads not accepting “New without Tags” and not placing the items in search returns.

As these are hand-crafted items, I don’t have formal tags, UPC codes or any of that. I don’t want people to think they are “used,” as in “worn” though.

Should I say “New with Tags,” even if there are not tags? Should I go to an office supply store and purchase hand-writable tags? I usually package them in gift boxes, and wouldn’t want the price to be on the item, in truth.

I’d love some thoughts on the best course of action here.
I don’t really understand why the “without tags” option is available if it’s automatically reset…

Thank you for your time!

Sincerely,
angie b.

You could purchase tags and put handmade on the tag and then, yes, I would call it new with tag but as long as all the materials used for the hand making are new. You can also purchase upc codes on eBay are Amazon…I do not believe you need a upc with handmade…but definitely check into that.

Hi Angie! Thanks for the great question. You are correct, Google only uses the conditions of New, Used, or Refurbished. New Without Tags is read by Google as Used, but will still show as New Without Tags on your Bonanza listing.

You can use the condition New With Tags. Google will translate that to New. They will need a UPC for new, branded items, but hopefully will realize that your brand name does not have an internationally recognized UPC and will not require one. If you see any disapprovals on your Ad Troubleshooter page, just let us know at [email protected] and we’ll ask them for a review to approve them.

We recently created a new option on the Batch Edit page that allows you to set the condition of your listings to New or Used all at once. This may be the easiest way for you to add the condition.

If you’d like, you can add a handmade label or your business card to the package, but it is not vital.

Hope this helps answer some of your questions. If you need any help, let us know!
