Item description
Vintage Binks Chicago Thor Model 2 pneumatic sprayer, as shown. One quart aluminum vessel with trigger sprayer. I am pretty much out of my depth on this one, so WYSIWYG ? But if you are buying it, I trust you know what to do with it. I wouldn't even know how to test this, but I can tell you that all four knurled bits turn, and the trigger seems to be springy in the way that it should be. Might not even matter if it works, if you are buying it for the history. It seems like a pretty early example, at least of this model - patent applied for, low serial number. Binks made many models of sprayer, but the Thor Model 2 seems scarce; I could find only one other example, and it had one patent listed on it with a second applied for, and a six-digit serial number. The Model 7 was "new" in 1937, according to old catalogs, so this presumably is at least that old, though I wouldn't have guessed it. 10 1/2" tall, weighs over two pounds.
Condition is - well, you be the judge. You can see it has wear overall, little bit o' paint here and there, and most significantly, there is a good deal of the rim chipped off (probably from falling over, it's heckin' top heavy, or maybe from falling off the counter while he was refilling the cup.) The last two photos showcase this chipping so please examine them well.
