WELCOME TO OUR KITCHEN!!! We run Cottage Kitchen Sweets By Sue to create delicious sweet treats for all occassions. Dave and I both grew up with Grandmothers' who devoted Sundays to feeding and congregating with their family. (Italians weren't the only ones who ate Sunday Dinners!!) It's just what we all did! Along with Sunday Dinners, there was also that anticipation of what was for dessert. I couldn't wait! I spent many weekends at my Granny Schmidts, "playing" in the kitchen". At the age of 7ish, I remember telling my Gran Schmidt "When you die, Laura (My Sister) wants your vanity. All I want is your cookbooks!" At the age of 56, I have every book and handwritten recipe of hers! About the same age, my Granny Miller asked me, "What do you want for Christmas?" While all my cousins were picking out their favorite barbie doll, I said "I want my own baking stuff" That Christmas I got a box of measuring cups, measuring spoons, all kinds of baking supplies. I was a happy camper that Christmas!
As all things eventually come full circle, as I am cooking and baking in the same "Cottage Kitchen" on the Wicomico River that Dave grew up in. I may have woke up on Sunday Monrings to Ebelskivers (Danish Pancakes) while he woke up to his Grandmother starting her pan of lasagna, or his Dad fixing fish soup, we both agree, food is the heart of the home!
So, WELCOME TO OUR KITCHEN!!! Take your time, look around at my delicious sweet treats and let me know how I can help make your day a special day.
