Are bonanza fees excessive?

It is wierd that Bonanza charges membership fees of $24/month + 16% commission on sales. Most selling websites have a Commission or Membership charge. Bonanza does both.

Am i the only one feeling hard done by this?

You choose what you want to pay..

Paid Membership is optional and runs from $10 to $200/mo depending on what you need and your volume (and many go with the free option membership $0/mo) …and you choose your fees from 3.5% (no advertising) to 16% (to max ad clicks)…

If you cannot support either, then perhaps choosing other options would be best…

Personally, I go with no membership (Have one now because it was a gift from a friend) and 9% because that is what my items support…

See ccmom's booth

Dear ccmom, can you, please, compare (generally of course) the results before with no membership and now having it?

Do you see a big difference?

I had a Silver for several years, I dropped it when I got sick and could not keep my booth up to date..Had this gold for 2 months as a gift…on average, I really do not see much difference. Only time I see a jump in sales is when I do a massive update, and add several new listings..

To continue…which is what most really do not want to hear…I had another booth for awhile that did quite well, but I am no longer going in that direction, so it is on vacation right now (ps I only had a silver that one too..but did quite well)

Thank you very much for your answer, ccmom. I appreciate it a lot.

“Only time I see a jump in sales is when I do a massive update, and add several new listings.” I’ve noticed this too, but most of those views are… mine. When I post items, then add photos in descriptions, make some changes – usually 1 item can be open several times. And this generate ‘false’,

And this generate ‘false’, disturbing traffic. We don’t need those views at all, but there is no option to turn it off, we are laden with those views. I guess, only some membership could stop it.

Membership is not worth it in my opinion.

Ebay does the same thing…IF you want a membership you have to pay for it and they still charge you final value fee’s on items….At least Bonanza does not hide your listings because you don’t have a membership like ebay does..

I don’t have membership there, I’ve checked right [URL removed] if I write in the search window e.g. BAY HORSE Portrait or Iris Impression, I can see my items on the list. Do you think it’s beacuse of cookies they show it to me even on the forst place of the list? Would you be kind enough to check those 2…

ArtistsUnion says: April 17, 2015

(forst=first*) I wonder if you can see those 2 items searching from different place. If you wish, I can check some of yours, if you give me some titles’ words.

ebay does tend to bring up listings closer to your location…though I did see your item on the first page..after the US and then the UK listings

I see, thank you, ccmom. Maybe they have been 30 days fix price listings? Since they have small charge.

From what i have read, it depends on what part of the country you are in….you may be able to see your own, but someone else may not be able to see it…If you subscribe to eCommerencebytes, they talk quite a bit about ebay and what they do….they actually talk about all selling sites, even bonanz

bf I got a trial membership there, i had 0 views and maybe 1-2 sales a month, when i got the membership, BAM Tons of views and and lke 25 sales in one month. now you tell me what is going on….I think everyone is correct with them “hiding” listings
