mostly because if they go to ebay first and find an item, they are not going to look anywhere else for it..I haven’t done ebay since 2009..slower here but better than ebay hassles

Having been a online seller since 1998 I have been with many of the sites out there, eBay being the main one from 1998 until about 2013 when they started going nuts with fees. Now, as a seasoned seller I can say right off the top….If you blame a site for your lack of sales, there is your #1 problem, all the site is is the platform, all up to the owner to get the sales. Bonanza is now my #1 location and of course I branch out to many others just to get the name & advertisements. I spend about 2-3 hours each day adding new items, updating photos, social marketing, updating pricing, creating coupons and sales, etc.. and I do quite well, with sales increasing each month across the board, You get out what you put in. If you come to Bonanza, list a few items and then expect tons of sales automatically, well you will be very disappointed as it does not in anyway work like that here or anywhere else for that matter, YOU as the seller and owner of your business need to do much of the work to make it profitable. You have got to give it a few months to really start working for you and your items. Keep in mind there is tons of competition out there so you have go to do something to set yourself apart. And once again to the ones that blame Bonanza or any other site solely for your lack of sales or business….you really need to evaluate your strategy and possibly yourself. Good luck to you!

Your post is inspiring. Do you think the seller from Ukraine has a chance to sell goods?

you said so much nicer..sometimes I really want to get very sarcastic with some people..and have had to delete and rewrite my replies very often…

and usually when I purchase from someone who has obvious ebay presence..my orders are concelled/refunded with out any explanation/or contact…and most times questions go unanswered..sorry but that really turns me off to buying..I will stick to the older/established bonz sellers

The e-commerce scene is always changing… there are so many options today and it seems if you are not visible on Google, you’re going to be overlooked. The reality is that Bonanza is small potatoes compared to Amazon and Ebay… Ebay is small potatoes compared to Amazon. And I’m an Ebay seller since 1999. I wonder how many shoppers go directly to a site vs Google to find an item and then follow a Google link. I never heard of Bonanza until 1 1/2 years ago. I’m hoping they become the “next big thing” but they don’t advertise, they don’t seem very visible and don’t have the clout to be Google visible unless I pay for it. But I will stick with them, just so there is an ebay alternative…

you do understand that to be seen on google you have to pay..ebay pays by using your fees, amazon actually ignores google shopping (refused to pay and spends millions on advertising instead)…all sites use your fees, bonz just gives you the option of how much you want to pay for those ads

If Bonanza would ADVERTISE it would help!!

Folks, it’s a tough market out there. eBay is getting bad. Bonanza will get there. You really do have to advertise anywhere and everywhere you can. Last year I got a 1099 this year i’m running at half the amount. Could be no one got a tax return plus property taxes are due. Kids proms. Money is staying in the household. My point run on multiple sites pinterest twitter facebook. Advertise on groups. I don’t sit. Next up my wwwstarlightcollectible getting ready to launch. You cant get rid of inventory, consign it! Move it and it will work for you!!…. Warm regards.. Vicky

I’m staying with Bonanza and EBay. Why not! No fees unless you sell.

No place is selling well, unless one is a retailer. There is just too much competition. Yes, being on Google shopping helps a LOT, but I’ve had my stuff on The Bay show up on the sidebar on Google search results and still the items didn’t sell at that time.
It’s just that the online pie has been sliced so thin, that one can’t depend on the sales at a source of income.
I know people want to say that it’s the seller’s fault, but it’s not. It’s just that it can’t be done anymore. Everyone’s selling online, that means we all have to share in the customers.
BTW, you might want to try FB Marketplace. I’ve had much better results there than any selling platform. I think it’s because people are already logged into their SM account, so they just click over there to Marketplace. OR maybe they see something of interest on their sidebar and click on it to redirect to Marketplace.
[URL removed] I’ve only made a few sales on Bozo. Don’t feel dismayed.

Do the math and that’s all I’m going to say.

Our family business has existed since 1975 and we have been selling on Bonanza, eBay, Amazon, Etsy and our own websites for many years. We always received the most orders on Amazon, next was our website, eBay then Bonanza and Etsy. We had over 2,200 products listed. We have seen a seismic shift throughout all the marketplaces in favor of Amazon.

We like the Bonanza system very much but respectfully; this response does not face reality. The fact is that the Amazon website is now often used as a search engine whenever someone is shopping. People just automatically go there to look for most anything. You will encounter this in your everyday conversations about most any product imaginable. Something like… “Oh yes you can get that on Amazon…”. Amazon has done a tremendous marketing job. No amount of optimizing your Bonanza listings will be helpful. This is easy to research on your own. Search for anything on these popular search [URL removed] Duck Duck Go, Google or Bing. Then on the search results page do a search for BONANZA. There’s your answer… Bonanza does not show up.

We discovered a major but little known fact about selling on Amazon. The vast majority of products on Amazon cost significantly more than the identical products on eBay or Bonanza. We priced our nearly all of our products around 10-20% higher on Amazon and about 30% lower on Bonanza. The higher prices on Amazon had no negative effect on our sales. Etsy is a completely different marketplace with emphasis on handmade.

We place a significant number of orders regularly online for all kinds of supplies and parts for our business and for personal use. I always check Amazon prices but I ALWAYS end up ordering either from the manufacturer’s website or from eBay and only because the price is always lower.

So, what is the answer? In the short run the answer is likely nothing unless Bonanza makes major changes to their business model and marketing. Unfortunately, I have no ideas except for each of us to regularly communicate via social media, personal conversations, blogs, etc. the pricing difference between Bonanza and other marketplaces.

We wish Bonanza well.

I have been on Bonanza now for 3 weeks and no sales at all.I have done all my homework fixing the site to Optimal levels so what kind of thing is going on here with Bonanza it seems like it’s a joke to me.I imported six items from Bonanza to eBay this morning and sold one item in less than an hour after importing it to eBay. it almost seems like bonanzas just some kind of scam.they have all these fancy little scales telling you how many views you got but no sales.
Hey Bonanza if you’re listening get off your fanny and do something for us so we can sell some stuff all you’re doing is collecting our money.
What about turbo pack and all your other expensive advertisements we spend money on and get no salesjust supposed reviews .

Sounds to me like you should go back to eBay if they are so successful there. Bonanza is a great site but you get out what you put in. Since you are so feeling so negative about Bonanza you won’t work at it. And your profanity won’t win you any sales either. Continued good lock on eBay..

abigdogmom says: April 14, 2019

It is true that you get out of Bonanza what you put into it. It takes work and promoting on your part, I think it is best to have a free booth and 9% fvf level to go along with your promoting, and possibly buying a turbo pack during the peak selling times. Being negative will not help.

BookbinEtc says: April 14, 2019

If you’ve only been here 3 weeks, you have barely had time to get indexed in Google Shopping, and seen. Plus, if you have the same stuff listed on eBay, perhaps THOSE items are what comes up first.
