Need to think up a phrase for this week’s game.

Carolyn did send a phrase and I have to take another look at it and use now or a little later.

Kitties are now running towards me with a bit of caution, but they know about F O O D !

Posted by Policequilts, Burlington, WI. 22,103 total posts | Posted 8 days ago

It was so nice not having the neighbors across the road home. BUT, I was weeding under the trees and I felt a presence. Then some noise. The neighbor’s rooster was behind me. I guess he was lonely and the other chicks weren’t doing it for her.

The kittens are now running towards me for food, but still a distance from me. I have quickly petted a couple of them when I can.

Yesterday, daughter Eileen and I – two grown women – went to see Christopher Robin. What a treat.

Brought back the many years that I read Winnie the Pooh to Eileen and her brother every single solitary night – and heaven help me if I forget a word or tried to skip a page!

Since we had to read all the books, no matter how many times we’d read them before, it got to a point where it took about an hour – and we loved every minute of it.

There’s so much wisdom in the stories.

In the movie, Christopher had grown up and forgotten so much of what made him joyful; it was a treat to watch him rediscover the “real” Christopher.

And I’ll tell you what – the theater actually had a lot of people there (even though the tickets cost $18.50 for the two of us).

And not one of us had a child with us! That’s what’s really remarkable – we didn’t feel like we needed an excuse to see the film.

It was a very good thing.

This morning feeding the kitties and Dottie came a runnin’.
They know can food. Well, the gray one has been very brave and have been running right by me, slower and slower. I was petting Dottie and gray came along the side of Dottie and I was petting him more. Big purr came out and surprised him. Gray kitty has been letting me pet him a bit more now. The runt kitty is now giving in to a little petting. It’s the Alfalfa looking one that is a stinker.

I heard that the Christopher Robin movie was geared more to adults but it was really good and kids would like it too.

Sounds like the kitties are warming up!

Company is expected to arrive today so need to get a few last minute things done before they arrive.

For the young at heart- anyway. From the time they were infants, my two loved Winnie the Pooh. My son died 15 years ago, but my daughter, who is over 50, loves Winnie to this day.

I think it might have something to do with what was read to them an children.

Donnie was so attached to Winnie that he had a Melmac plate with Winnie on it. It’s not unbreakable, we found out. There he was, not even 2 years old, when it broke.

He went on a hunger strike. Really. He would not eat. Period. I’d bought it at Sears and they didn’t have any more anywhere. Incredible as it seems, the wonderful person I spoke with put out an all-points store-wide bulletin – and she found one, which she sent as a gift.

The minute we put food on that plate, he began eating again.

So, yes, even now, he would have loved the movie.

It tugged at his sister’s heartstrings yesterday, as it did mine, but that’s not to say every child would be as touched and pleased to see the film as we were.

We have a history with it.

Some more muggy days. I got up several times during the night smelling smoke. Tried to find a weather update and it is the smoke from Canada that has been streaming down.

The gray kitty is getting use to be petting. I think since there isn’t all the cleaning that Dottie should of been doing that my touch is something they need.

It’s suppose to be hotter and muggier tomorrow.

Went to the garage to feed the kittens and I see through the window one of the kittens playing and tossing something up in the air. Walked in and the gray one ran to me. I see that the runt is playing with a good size mole. Growled and hissed and running off with it. Gray one did want a little bit of petting. YEAH!

Went to feed the kitties. Dottie met up with me to enter the front door and the kitties ran up to me. The gray one is loving to be petted. Rubbed him and scratching his belly and then his tail wrapped around my wrist. (HA HA HA He is falling for me)

Good thing Eileen and I went to see Christopher Robin earlier this week. Yesterday, with absolutely no warning, the only movie theater in our nearby area – one with 8 screens – abruptly closed its doors forever.

That mall has lost all its anchor stores, restaurants and whatever small “fun to browse-in” shops used to be there.

I kind of think it has met the end of the line. When you go to a mall and can park anywhere you want in the vast line because there aren’t any cars of would-be might-be shoppers, you know a shopping center is beyond redemption.

Ug, have to fill out background check and need ALL my previous addresses. How am I supposed to remember my apartment number from 35 years ago??? Web site timed out while I was trying to locate old info. hope it saved everything, or is that expecting to much? :(

Congratulations on the walk through! Hopefully everything went smoothly.

Sounds like your patience and love is paying off Bette!

Shopping malls seem to be disappearing everywhere! So sorry your theaters are gone! We saw the Christopher Robin movie last night. I really enjoyed the dialog between Christoper Robin and Pooh Bear, very cleverly written. The movie did seem sad with a happy ending but we enjoyed it.

Pooh may call himself a bear of very little brain – but he is definitely a bear of very great heart and wisdom.

We were disappointed we didn’t see Gopher in the movie.
