Item description
TYUYAMUNITE
Uranium Rock: 4.8 oz. weight
Radioactivity Level: 61,500 CPM
(counts-per-minute)
$45.00 plus $12.80 shipping
This rock was found at a mining waste-pile
located at Jurassic Canyon, 18 miles
NW of Grants NM. April 2025.
Tyuyamunite is one of five uranium varieties
found at this famous uranium field. The others
are: Carnotite, Uraninite, Coffinite, and
the rarest of them all, Jurassic Todilto
Limestone. This rock field is the richest
uranium site in the USA, and fourth richest
in the entire world. There are NO mosquitos,
and NO cockroaches anywhere at Jurassic
Canyon ! The main wildlife is the Diamondback
Rattlesnake, and my wife gave me a set of
anti-rattlesnake leggings as a Christmas
present, ten years ago, to reduce the risk
of a snake bite. These days, I always go to
to the field to collect rocks with a rockhound
companion, because I am not sure whether
I could drive the car to the Grants hospital,
18 miles away, if I had a snake bite.
