Why are sales so slow on bonanza?

I have been reselling since last April. I started on Ebay, but not long after I cross-posted on Bonanza. I have had only 12 sales in 8 months on Bonanza. I like Bonanza and would love to have a store like I do on Ebay, but I can’t because the sales are just too slow. Is there a way to drive more traffic? Does anyone list solely on Bonanza and make money?

LuLu’s Fancy opened here on Dec. 29 2017, so we’re new here. We were averaging about 1 sale per week, but haven’t seen a single sale in at least 2 weeks now. I do promote us in social media and hired a service for that as well. We are getting quite a few views, but no bites lately.

I planned to cross list our items at eBay too, but have been putting it off, because I want to give this venue a good chance. I love the community spirit here and actually, aside from slow sales, everything else is nicer than eBay.

I do recommend a social media promotion service, such as InspiredCreations booth provides here, for getting plenty of views to your booth.

We went from getting a handful of views per day to hundreds. She promotes at all the major social media sites and has a pretty good following.

Sales are slow everywhere right now. I also sell on ebay and my sales have been zero for the last of Jan thru this part of Feb.

I have a couple of booths here and 1 has been selling 2-3 items evryday. It is a speciality booth. My other booth has been a bit slow lately.

What is your booth where you’ve been having several sales a day, Bargainhunter? Just curious.

I’ve made three sales in about three months. Sales are slow for me but I’m not giving up. I keep adding items and sometimes change my prices. I also offer a 10% off coupon code, free shipping on certain amount of purchase. I’m hoping it will pick up soon.

Nice items, Karen. Make sure to include your measurements and this will help.

This is an official Bonanza response.

@cgbarn, sorry your sales are not what you want them to be. Rather than answer your question on why sales are slow on Bonanza, I want to re-phrase your question to ask, “How can I increase my sales on Bonanza?” That will net you much more actionable responses.

It is difficult to form one response that will work for everyone, as each seller’s situation and business is different. Fortunately, we have a variety of tools that can help identify ways you can increase sales. Check out the Seller Checklist (https://www.bonanza.com/booths/redirect_in_booth?to=seller_checklist) for tips on boosting your sales (note that you must be logged into your account to access your customized checklist from the link above).

This is a good idea. But helping sellers company helping itself. I do not see lots of commercials to make Bonanza recognizable and reliable marketplace

Well I can easily say this is the most user friendly site for sellers but sadly it just isn’t of any use for non US sellers.
I gave it a try as a UK seller tried the Advertising options etc and discovered it only advertises on US based google etc.
I’ll leave what I have on here keep the EBAY share and maybe come back if they ever decide to make an actual UK site

The sites ease of use and community gets a 10 out of 10 but I simply couldn’t recommend it to my fellow UK sellers as there’s just no functions to get seen on UK google, media etc

Thank you for the kind words Leermatthews2604. We do have a lot of opportunity to improve Bonanza for UK and other sellers outside of the US (working on it). You should be on Google Shopping UK. We are checking to see why that is not happening and we will get back to you directly.

I’m slow, too. Around February and March me and my family go through a rough financial time. We have a business offline that slows down in the winter. I was hoping to be able to count on Bonanza traffic to help with some of that burden but so far, while I’ve gotten a few sales, it has not done part of the job I had hoped for.

I do not want to have to depend on Google so much. I would like to be able to count on Bonanza internal traffic as well. After all, I know Bonanza traffic cannot be responsible for all my sales….but just some more internal traffic would be a blessing.

If I had stuff that was not sellable, I’d blame it solely on myself. I always do my research when buying something to sell to make sure it has sold on eBay previously. I’m competitive with eBay pricing and on Google shopping.

I am excited that Bonanza is ramping up advertising at their end recently. Hoping that will make a difference. It sure cannot hurt.

I also give Bonanza a 10 out of 10 when it comes to ease of use.

Still, I plan to stay here on Bonanza.
